Earlier this year Icelandic supermarkets reported a cucumber shortage, per BBC, after the small Nordic community was similarly taken by the viral TikTok salad that had us all in chokehold in 2024. It all started with Logan Moffitt, dubbed the “cucumber guy” – the “most hydrated person” online – who uses a deli container to shake up a quick salad, and often starts his videos off with the catchphrase: “Sometimes you need to eat an entire cucumber.”
